Captains, welcome to the official T14 Dreadnought Strategy Guide. This guide aims to give you some insights into target mechanics for the new Dreadnought hull, the Smogfather. Learn about your enemies and find general target info to help you in battle. Good luck!
Black Water Hideout
Having mutated back to its primal form to protect itself from the cooling climate, the Black Water has retreated back to the frigid north, its place of origin. Seeking to begin his ascendancy to the Reaver ember throne, Gutspill uses this opportunity to unveil the Smogfather, the pinnacle of his unique brand of dirty work.
Fitted with a newly devised Pollution Mortar system, the Smogfather smothers its enemies with a suffocating haze. The cloud of smog not only corrodes the enemies with its caustic gases but also stifles enemy hull maneuverability, making anything trapped in the noxious fumes an easy target.
Tier 14 Dreadnought Hull: Smogfather
The Smogfather is initially equipped with:
- 16 weapon slots
- 4 armor slots
- 6 special slots
- 2 additional weapon slots (unlock at E3)
- Another 2 weapon slots (at E7)
- 2 additional armor slots (unlock at E4)
- Another 2 armor slots (at E9)
- 3 Heavy Weapon slots (unlock at E1, E6, and E10
In addition, the Smogfather includes 3 Officer Slots; the first of which may equip a powerful Captain. These slots unlock at E2, E5, and E9.
The Smogfather’s main weapon, the Ramshackle Mortar, fires at long range, dealing Explosive damage, and has Splash.
Using the Smogfather’s built-in Pollution Mortar:
The Pollution Mortar fires in three arcs - both sides and straight ahead. Each Mortar is on its own cooldown, so it is advised to keep moving so that multiple mortars can fire on a target. The
Mortars drop a damage-over-time AoE that also inflicts a turn speed debuff on enemy hulls.

Glossary
Range definitions are relative to the primary season hull. Thus, what is short for one hull might be considered medium for another. The goal is to convey easily to players which turrets/ships they can outrange and which turrets/ships may be firing on you from a considerable distance away.
Very Short = Easily out-ranged.
Short = Out-rangeable.
Medium = At least the same range as the player, but generally not much more.
High = Will easily outrange the player hull.
Very High = Will cover a significant portion of the target.
If the arc is not specified, then it has a 360-degree arc.
