Aircraft can only be utilized within dedicated air platoons; they cannot be incorporated into standard ground platoons.

While certain units like the Escort may traverse the battlefield through flight, they are not categorized as true airborne units. Genuine airborne units can be distinguished by the airplane icon highlighted in the image below:
