Greetings Commanders, Friendly Fixer here!

I mentioned previously that we would be discussing some of the fair play and anti-cheating measures in more detail. Today I’d like to address building repairs. This will be a short one but should provide a bit more detail and clarity on what we’ve been up to.

First, the way base repairs work at the moment is simple. Once a battle ends all buildings begin repairing at the same time. Each building has a ‘time to repair’ that is directly proportional to the amount of damage it has taken and its maximum health. 50% of the health lost means it will take 50% of the maximum time to repair. For most buildings this is 1 hour, with some taking 1.5 hours. However, since the smallest amount of gold you can have is 1, that means it can add up rather quickly when you add all of the buildings together. It costs a lot of gold to repair 240 walls!

To that end it seems players are using an exploit in an external tool to only repair key buildings such as Platforms, Bunkers, Bastions and the Command Center. This can lead to bases looking a bit disheveled and we’ve seen quite a few higher level bases that don’t even bother with walls at all.

This of course isn’t ideal, so to address this in our June 26th Update,  we’re making three changes:

  • Some key buildings will now only take 1 hour to repair, which comes out to 1 gold

  • All walls and purely defensive structures will repair immediately for free

    • In fact, all non-military buildings will repair immediately for free

  • There will now be a discount for repairing all buildings at once, instead of requiring this to be done one at a time

These changes allow us to make base repairs cheaper in a way that still retains value for purely defensive structures while keeping some skin in the game for ones that can retaliate against attacking units. It also allows us to apply discounts that go cheaper than the limit of 1 gold per building. Lastly, it is just more fair.

Stay tuned for our next diary entry soon on Cheats and Exploits.
